Dear Jace....

Dear Jace,

Next time you decide to tattle on your sister for sneaking a snack before dinner (or any other silly thing) make sure you are not doing the same exact thing. Although you are the one that tattled, you will still be punished.

Love,

Mommy

Enough is Enough

Ok, I get it. It has been a long time since I have blogged. I get it.

I have been getting a lot of little comments about my absence in blogging. I really do miss it and really feel like I should be blogging to keep my sanity. It is so hard some days to find the time to do it. My goals each day are to brush my teeth, brush my hair, keep the kids alive and go to bed. Some days I succeed and others are an epic fail. I typically do ok with the kids and bed part but the other 2, well, sometimes they just get overlooked.

I am going to try to get back to blogging for real this time though. I think it is so important to take time out for myself and laugh about the craziness that is our life. Sometimes I run out of time and forget how important I think it is. I will try to do better about that!

I know some of you that read this blog (all 4 of you) are out of state and rely on this blog to keep you connect with us. I realize I have failed at that I promise to do better.

Since my last few updates a few things have happened in our life.

Nylin turned 7, which was so crazy for me. I can't believe my first baby is no longer a baby, wow!!!!

                                                              Nylin and her buddy Jacob
We had a pool party for Nylin this year. Yup, a pool party in January! It was so much fun!

We had Jackson's & CJ's first Christmas, it was awesome for all of us!!! We really had a great Christmas!!!

and I got the most amazing gift from Nylin, a calendar that she made at school. I love it!

We also gave Jackson his first haircut!

Before---
During-

After- although this is about 3 weeks after and it looks like he needs another cut!

Old Man Winter dumped us with tons of snow, ok not tons but somewhere around 8 inches.

The kids loved it.Well all but one kid! Look at the little pout Jackson had while his brother and sisters played outside.....

Does it get any cuter than that? I think not!
Poor little guy! If he only knew how warm we were in here while they were all freezing ;)

Jace did not mind the cold AT ALL! This boy was all over the place!

Nylin was not quite as enthusiastic but she still stopped to pose for a few pictures.

As soon as Kara got up from nap and realized that everyone was outside she was dressed and out the door!

After they were done they wanted hot chocolate and snow cream. Weirdos!
Nylin got some snow, added some hot cocoa mix to it and we chowed down. It was the best Snow Cream EVER!

Then onto the weekend. We took the kids sledding at a local church. The hill is just perfect, not too big (till my almost 30 year old butt tries trekking up it and can't breathe!) and not too small. The kids really love it because they can go down alone. It is not near as crowded as Art Hill in Forest Park so you never run into anyone and you don't have to worry about sliding into a pond.

Jason going down the hill with Jace and Nylin on his back. Kara joined later but they went so fast I could not snap a pic :(

Momma and Nylin going down, belly style!

When I mentioned huffing up the hill I forgot to mention that I had to pull kids up too!!!

Kara pretty much hung out at the top of the hill but every once in a while she would get excited and go down. She liked sledding but hated if snow came back into her face.

That's all I have for now. Blogger is being mean and turning all my pictures sideways and I am getting really irritated. I have been working on this post for 4 days now. I hope to be back to normal blogging from now on though :)

Jace

Oh how I love this little boy. He can drive me crazy one minute and the next he can melt my heart.
Last night while putting him to bed he hugged me nicely and said "You my girl Momma"

Heart officially melted.

I tried adding more pics but the stupid uploader is just that, stupid!

Never a dull moment....

It is always crazy busy around here with 4 kids. Sometimes I barely remember to brush my own hair. Every once in a while the kids like to add a little more mayhem to the mix. This week we have:
  • Jace acting like he has been raised by baboons
  • Jace having asthma attacks
  • Jackson developing a staph infection.

That's right folks, no dull moments!

So let’s start with the baboon boy. For some reason my little sweet three your old son has turned into a wild animal. It is all we can do not to drop him off at the zoo and RUN! Some say it is because of Jackson (new baby in the house, no attention, blah blah bla) but I don’t think so. I think if it were Jackson then Jace would have been acting out more in the beginning, which he was but he got better and now worse again. I would like to think that it is just his age and this shall soon pass. If not you can you PLEASE pass me a drink.

see the resemblance???

While running around like an insane monkey three year old, Jace is having asthma attacks. I just mentioned to someone at the beginning of the week that he has not had a real attack in about a year. The next day he had an attack. Have you ever tried making an insane monkey three year old take a breathing treatment? It is NO FUN!

While all this with Jace was going on Jason started noticing a lump on Jackson’s chest. Basically it is on his breast. I did some google searches and thought it was due to witches milk. It is very common for boy and girl babies both to develop a tiny little breast bud while nursing. The increased amount of estrogen from mommy can sometimes cause this, no big deal. We left it alone. Then late Tuesday afternoon Jason tells me to take another look at it and thinks that it might be forming a small head on it. I freaked and called the doctor. Of course they thought it was witches milk as well. When I mentioned that it was beginning to look like a pimple they freaked as well. Wednesday morning we took him in to the Dr. W and low and behold, Jackson has a staph infection. Just the thought of having to take Jackson to the ER was giving me major anxiety. ER’s can be very dangerous for babies with EB. EB is so rare and people just don’t know what to do.

Luckily Dr. W was able to drain it in his office and put him on antibiotics. The draining was no fun at all but Jackson is a trooper. He maybe cried for 2-3 minutes. He is a tough guy!!! We are back home now and are running a 10 day course of antibiotics, keeping an eye on it and praying that it goes away!
We are hoping this is not the start of something with Jackson. Staph can be very serious (as I am sure you remember from Kara!). Kids with EB are much more prone to infection due to all the open sores on them. The strange thing about this spot is that there were no blisters or open sores in that area, ever.
They are guessing he may had had a small open pore there and the staph just made its way in there. Poor guy!

The really strange thing is- I just told someone earlier in the week that we have been able to keep Jackson infection free. A few days later, infection! No joke. I can’t make this stuff up people. I am just done making any comment whatsoever concerning my children’s health!

There is never a dull moment around here but I love my crazy life! If thing get a little crazy I like to call my juggling act cardio. It makes me feel better.

Checking In

I am just doing a quick check in. It has been a long crazy week around here and I have no energy to write a full post.
Basically- Jason landed himself in the ER on Sunday night. He is fine but it was stressful. AND Jace had his tonsils and adenoids removed on Monday. He is also fine, but again, it was stressul. And on top of all that, I am still pregnant. Of course I knew I would still be pregnant and I WANT to still be pregnant since I am not exactly full term (will be on Wednesday). BUT being pregnant and dealing with all this stress has been pretty crazy. I need sleep. I need Peanut to get here so I can sleep again :)

Anyways- we are still here and we are all doing fine! I will update with pictures and a bunch of awesome stories about my Mother's day weekend (that's right my husband gives me the whole weekend!). I hope to do that update on Wednesday.

31 weeks

How far along?: 31 wks 1 day

63 days until my due date! I am hoping for more like 45 days, haha!

Total weight gain: 24 lbs

Peanut’s growth: Peanut should measure about 18 inches long from head to toe and weighs about 3.5 pounds. Rather than hearing vibrations, baby's nerve endings in his/her ears are connected now so that s/he can hear distinct sounds, like familiar voices and music.

Maternity clothes: Just bought some new ones for Florida and I am glad I did. We are having a "heat wave" here in STL! It is 85 today!

Sleep: I am sleeping ok. If I wake in the middle of the night it is sometimes hard fo rme to fall back asleep.

Best moment of the week: hearing Peanut's heartbeat at the doctors office

Worst moment of the week: Finding out that Jace will for sure need to have his tonsils and adenoids removed. They want him to have it done ASAP since it is so bad. ASAP to them is May 10th, which happens to be his 3rd birthday. He won't know but I will :( The month of May is going to be crazy with soccer games, surgery, weekly appointments, dance recital, school ending and POSSIBLY Peanuts arrival! AHHHH!

Movement: A LOT!!

Gender: Surprise

Food cravings: Ice cream :)

Labor signs: nothing at all!

What I miss most: sleeping on my belly

What I'm looking forward to: The weekend. We are going to get the garden set up as much as we can and get our yard cleaned up. A clean yard=a happy mama!!!

Next appointment: April 14th.

Happy St. Patty's Day!

Happy St. Patrick's Day from the Webb's (well the little Webb's anyway)

Hello from Ms. Kara!

CHHEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSEEEEEEE From Jace!

You might have heard that I am letting Nylin dress herself lately. Sometimes she looks GREAT and sometimes she looks, well, less than great. Pick and choose your battles right? I try to support her and her big girl choices but sometimes I have to say something. I told her this morning she kind of looks goofy. Her reply?
"Mommy if I look so goofy then how come you call me your pretty princess? Princesses are NOT goofy looking."

Well shut my mouth. She is a Pretty Princess- no matter what she wears!!!

Park Pictures

It was an awesome weekend here in Missouri. The weather was amazing. Mom and I took advantage of the nice day on Saturday and took the kids to the park (while daddy worked). We had such a good time!!!! Just seeing the kids laugh and play like that was amazing.

here are a few pics!

PS- I am not happy with Blogger right now. I have about 5 more pictures I would LOVE to hare but they are uploading upside down. I have tried everything and nothing is helping. Hopefully it will be fixed by the end of the day and I will add them.
