I am still winning, for now. No new pants are in order yet, but I am working on it.
I will post exact weight loss (not how many pounds I actually weigh) on February 5th. I began serious dieting and exercise on January 5th. I guess I will post total and monthly weight loss on the 5th of every month until I reach my goal.
Which I plan to hit my goal weight by or before July 5th.

You guys!
I went to see Legally Blonde the Musical last week at the Fabulous Fox Theatre. It was awesome. There was a lot of blonde, a lot of pink and a lot of OMIGOD's going on. Despite all that, the musical itself was awesome.
It did not hurt that I had great company. Thanks for the tickets again Angie! I had an awesome time!!!
If you get a chance to see this, omigod, you should.

C25K Week1 Day 3
WHOA! I busted hiney on this day! I have never ran so fast or sweat so much. I was so proud of every little sweat bead, pathetic, I know. It just felt good to be doing something for myself for a change. If you know me then you know that I tend to put other people (my kids and husband mainly) in front of myself. I am so busy taking care of them and making sure they are doing good, I forget about myself.
Well thanks to my kids and my husband I can actually start taking care of myself and having time for myself.
My kids have been super healthy lately (knock on wood right!). My husband has been super supportive in giving me the time to workout, take baths, read my book and just be. I love him so much for this. It might have taken a few conversations but he gets it now, he gets that I need this time for me. I love you honey!
So today is the Week 2 Day 1, I better get busy!!!

C25K Week 1 Day 2- CHECK
I have just finished day 2 of week one. When I say just finished I mean I am still sweating like a pig as I type this.
I just wanted to let every one that is thinking of taking this on know- it might be a bit challenging at first but when I get off that treadmill I feel great. Well I would feel much better if sweat did not just drip down on the keyboard, GROSS. I feel accomplished. I feel like I am really working towards something good.

Couch to 5K to a bath full of epsom salt
If I hear someone tell me one more time that the fastest and easiest way to lose weight is run, I will hit them on the head with my worthless 1 pound weights covered in dust. I hate running, I loathe running. It makes my calves scream for mercy, makes my chest feel as if it will explode at any moment and sweat pour down off my face. Wait sweat is good right? Crap.
I want to stick to walking but I also want to look damn good this summer in a bathing suit. I am tired of being so self conscience every time I go to the pool. We are going to the beach this year though. NO WAY am I walking out onto the beach with a fat roll hanging over my bottoms and a spare tire peeking out of my top (that is no doubt be a damn tankini since that is all I have been able to wear the last 5 years). I want to look good. I am not looking for perfection. I know I am not going to look like Jessica Alba anytime soon but I think I could pull off post baby Britney? So run I must. It burn lotso calories and tones cellulite ridden thighs.
So I found this program, Couch to 5K (C25K). The idea is to turn my lazy couch potato butt into a runner, getting me running three miles (or 5K) on a regular basis in just 8-9 weeks. HA! I would LOVE to see that happen As I look closer into the program I see there is really hardly any “running” involved at first. Hmmm, this could be interesting, so I read on. As I am reading I am getting excited, overjoyed actually. If this program can turn my lazy out of shape butt into a runner, all things would be good.
It is a three day a week program, I can handle that. I am already walking on the treadmill a few days a week anyway, what the hay?
So far so good. I have completed Day 1 of Week 1. WAIT, before you start laughing, I just started on Wednesday. I did not want to wait until Monday. I am always waiting for something and then something else comes up and then I never get to doing what I said I was going to do. Get it? I did not want to wait. So I started. It was not as bad as I thought. I am not looking ahead to the other weeks just yet, no need to scare myself. So this week all I do is walk briskly for 5 minutes to warm up, then I jog for 90 seconds and walk for 60, I do this until I hit 20 minutes. NOT BAD! When I was done with that I even managed to walk 15 more minutes.
If you are interested in this program you should really check it out on coolrunning.com
If you scroll down there is a complete chart of everything you need to do.
I will be sure to check in and let you all know how it is going- after I get done soaking in a bath full of epsom salt.

Pictures are worth a thousand words.
Needless to say we had a very exciting weekend. It was a weekend FULL of nonstop cousin partying.

Makeup time!

All dolled up!

Then they got a hold of Jace, Poor Kid. Oh and By the way- J wanted me to make the title of these pictures "He is already trying to get into girls skirts"

Something a little more manly

Then they got Kara!

THEN they got Buddy! He loved it!

Another blow to the middle class.
After February 10th, 2009 resale shops will no longer be able to sell used children's clothes or toys without first being tested for lead. This is all thanks to CPSIA (Consumer Products Safety Improvement Act). From what I understand some places will begin testing themselves but not all shops will be able to afford expensive testing. Even then the price of the clothing and toys may double or triple due to the added cost of testing.
Why I do understand the reasoning for this, it still hurts. Most (if not all) of my kids clothes come from shops like Goodwill and Once Upon a Child. I also donate things to places which will no longer be allowed.
Toys and Clothing made after February 10th will be made with a permanent tracking device and will not require testing. It could take, months or years for these resale shops to replenish their stock. In the meantime, I have to pay full price for clothes. hmph.

My resolutions.
I normally do not make resolutions but this year I felt the need to do so.
Maybe if I post them here I will feel like I need to stick to them more, we shall see.
1. Get healthy. I know this is on the top of most people’s lists. I feel like this is very important to me this year. I feel more out of shape than I have my entire life. Chasing after three little ones and feeling winded is not good. I am not going to put a pound goal on myself (although I have a number in mind) but more like a feel good goal. I just want to feel good about myself again. I want to feel confident again.
2. Get organized. I am sure this is on a lot of peoples lists as well.
J and I are already working on this. I have never been so close to actually finishing a resolution before (hence why I stopped making them years ago). We got some shelves put up, cleaned out more stuff, donated toys and clothes and bought tile for the kitchen. We spent 4 straight days working on this resolution. Hopefully by the end of the week I can close this one out!!!
3. Be a better blogger. I like blogging. It is like the diary of the new age. There is no lock and key on here though- it is all out there for you to see.
